was about having a ‘break’
to spend time with my mother in law in
Goa India. This turned out to be vital
as my mother-in-law became sick on our
visit and died the day after we left.
We were so pleased to be there, had physical
rest ( my body really needed) but not
much sleep. Have come back into action
revitalised. Sue who is central to terrierrescue
and fosters many dogs and is a dog’s
body herself; stayed with the dogs ..every
room full and actually enjoyed herself!
Since return we have found some wonderful
homes and been able to be there for more
wonderful scallywags.
Dee has come on board as a more than fulltime
volunteer secretary. She is brilliant
and taken over all the questionnaires
and liaison. She sorts out details with
new dogs; arranges support on neutering
advice & followup. I focus on assessing
dogs we’re able to help, liaising
with other rescues; advertising; assessment
and therapy and ‘walking’;
vet care/support and updating websites.
Here are a few good news emails received
recently

Buster the deaf Jack Russell Lynne I'm
delighted to say we have found a country
home with a police inspector at West Yorkshire
police. she has other dogs to be Buster's
ears and she has loads of patience and
Buster's behaviour is improving daily.
He sleeps on her pillow at night.
a new home and a new life from his abused
past.
she is taking him to a specialist at Chester
to get his ears seen to see if they can
improve his hearing.
thanks for your help and support love

Oscar Red Fell Terrier on our website
for 6 months fostered for 2 weeks and
..homedHi Lynne and Dee, just so that
you know, Oscar is settling in we have
been out this morning and he met up with
a lady we know who has 2 beagles both
on leads & there was no barring of
teeth or growling from master Oscar so
we let them smell noses & then went
on our way I told him he was such a good
boy he wagged his tail as much to say
, yes he was. So we have now to meet some
other dogs I know & will take it from
there I will keep you posted Best wishes
with homing the dogs Barbara

Seamus Terrierx found stray and quite
subdued during Rescue:We all accept them
as they are - but it’s just a joy
to see the happy dog within come out.
Because he was a very serious chap when
he arrived. He's not exactly chilled,
nowadays, y'know. He has a sense of humour,
bullies us when he thinks it walks time,
panics when he thinks he's lost us, but
is still on a mission when it come to
cats (and brought home a whole claw in
his forehead today to prove it!). I'll
join the forum! Ruth

Betty aka Shelley Parson’s JRT in
Battersea for 3 months bouncing for Britain
& exhausting herself so Battersea
askedus to help Betty is settling well,
the first night we thought we will start
as we mean to go on, so we put her basket
in our bedroom next to Bobby. They both
fell asleep & settled straight away.
Bobby loves his new sister as do all the
family. Betty is all you said she was
& more. She has put a new energy in
the house, it feels like she has been
hear forever. They walk together for at
least 2 hours a day and 1 hour at night
and the photo says it all. Thank you for
leaving her with us and don't worry we
love her.

Sophie Patt homed then returned 6 months
later ‘problems!’ no brilliant
dog..more so now..
Hi
Lynne We are going to be moving back to
Sheffield next month (December). I am
so excited!! It will be brilliant for
the dogs too - the house has just had
a secure fence put up (the garden is massive)
and is now ready for us and the dogs.
Just 5 mins down the road is a huge, amazing
park, so walkies are sorted. We are hoping
to get them into long walks (like all
day) in the Peak District as we both really
enjoy it and, on past experience, so do
they. I just know they're going to be
really happy up there. Do you realise
we have had Sophie a year? She is just
AMAZING! All the niggly little habits
have gone and she is now totally fabulous
and incredibly happy. She is in amazing
physical condition too - she likes to
RUN like mad for 20 minutes, then is happy
to walk for the rest of the outing. It
suits her very well. She also loves retrieving
and is excellent at it - very focussed
- and is developing into a brilliant swimmer!
Jack, on the other hand, is more of a
trotter - likes to wander off, but doesn't
do much running and refuses to retrieve
(regardless of treat!) nor do he "do"
getting wet. A couple of nice photos attached.
Sophie looks so beautiful on them I had
to send them to you!! The one on the beach
is taken up at Berck in northern France
- we were there earlier this month - fantastic
weather and NO ONE THERE!! Our new address
(from 18 December) will be:
If
we get chance, we will come over to see
you but it is looking unlikely - so much
to do, so little time.
Take
care and best wishes Donna
