Jack Russells
|
These are short or intermediate legged. They apparently have to have 55% of their colour 'white/ cream' to be a "Jack Russell" under the Kennel Club standard. However Working Type Terriers who are still close to their roots like JRTs, are seldom bred for show, more for performance and many a 'Jack' will come through our rescue completely Brown; Black and Tan or Black. In true definition they can't be called Jacks but when their parents are Jacks and they are 'shunned on colour' you see how ridiculous KC terms are. Jacks- you either adore them or avoid them. We adore them and as they are very common we often ask people what they think of them. If they are Jack shy then we suggested they don't go anywhere near the Patterdale Fell terrier or indeed other terriers. Jacks have fantastic personalities and in our book are first class comedians and need a sense of humour, fun and adventure coming from potential owners. Natural 'ratters', rather like cats are natural micers! If you want a tame 'everso' life style you need to choose your Jack carefully. We do get what we call the 'little loves'. A matured Jack is a good guide to matching to your lifestyle, be they very adaptable and trainable. The travellers are major breeders of Jack today, sold off through free ads, no backup given |
