On Planet Terrier we have dogs who sit their lives out in kennels because people don't believe in themselves to be able to manage a dog who isn't an all singing all dancing. These are not soft toys. To rescue is to believe in yourself...else go buy your puppy and hand your money over, asking the breeder to breed again. And you'll put far more work into a puppy than the adult and yes you may get it wrong and find the adult not what you can manage. Let the dogs who lose their homes, die without a second chance or glance. A Rescue family meets that dog 'in the fur', they chuckle and just know we're going to get along just fine. Our dogs need their homes now. We want people to be looking for a dog they can help not a tick box list of how the dog can be all things to us! Our dogs needed us; their lives depended on us saying yes..we didn't say oh if we help an older dog we'll never be able to home it...it never crossed our minds they needed us and we said YES! |
